Nestled in the heart of the Spanish Pyrenees, with over 170 kilometers of skiable terrain and a northern orientation that guarantees top-quality snow throughout the season, the ski resort has established itself as a leading reference point in southern Europe. It’s no coincidence that it has hosted international competitions, such as the Freeride World Tour, nor that it draws skiers from across Europe every winter.
But beyond its most famous slopes, Baqueira Beret hides runs that are true treasures: peaceful routes through forests, hidden red runs that test your technique, and legendary blacks that are part of skiing history. We’ve selected 11 slopes that capture the essence of the resort, offering options for every skill level that will make this corner of the Pyrenees your personal gold standard —if it isn’t already!

Its narrow, tube-like layout demands focus and technique, but in return, it offers a different experience compared to the wider reds in the sector. Skiing it early means fewer crowds, adding the appeal of a more peaceful descent. On top of that, the views of the valley and the Pyrenean peaks make this run one of the most special in Bonaigua.

6. DOSSAU
Few slopes capture the essence of Baqueira like Dossau. Starting at 2,500 meters, this red run offers a long, consistent layout with panoramic views that make it impossible not to pause and take in the scenery. While it often sees more skiers than some of the more hidden reds in the sector, it remains enjoyable, offering a smooth, fun descent with stunning views accompanying every turn. A great plan is to link it with Era Cabana to extend the experience. It’s also one of the most accessible options for intermediate skiers looking to savor powder snow in a spectacular setting.

7. BACIVER

8. LEBRE
Lebre is another red run that offers a real challenge for skiing enthusiasts: fast descents, changes in gradient, and a few uneven sections. If you’re an upper-intermediate skier looking for a more thrilling experience, this hidden run is not to be missed. It’s usually in excellent condition early in the morning, and since it’s not one of the busiest slopes, it provides descents with a genuine sense of freedom.

9. LUIS ARIAS
Black runs at Baqueira means talking about Luis Arias. This historic descent pays tribute to one of the resort’s founders and, decades later, remains a benchmark challenge. The slope begins wide and seemingly straightforward, but soon narrows into the famous “Arias Wall”, with steep slopes and rugged sections that test even the most skilled skiers. Its northern orientation ensures impeccable snow even in spring, and this combination of history, character, and technical demand makes it a must for experienced skiers.

10. MANAUD
Manaud is another demanding black run in the Baqueira sector, featuring steep inclines from the very first section and abrupt changes in slope, all on uneven and often narrow terrain. Its remote character means it’s rarely crowded, and combined with the spectacular views from the top, it results in a descent that stands out as truly unique. It’s also one of the best access points to the resort’s powder for experienced skiers: on the way down, if you veer to the left, you’ll find one of the most enjoyable areas to carve freely through fresh snow.

For that reason, it’s not always easy to enjoy it to the fullest. If you’re lucky enough to find it at its best, the experience is unforgettable, offering one of the most intense and thrilling descents in the entire resort, with spectacular views of the valley.
